George Leverett has been a professional Harpist for 28 years, but let's start at the beginning!
George started playing the harp with Nevada based celtic band Clan na Gael (1993), spending most of the 1990's performing throughout the west coast. Along with his wife Anwyn and the other members of the group, Clan na Gael realeased 5 c.d.s, and performed full time at Celtic festivals, bluegrass festivals, concerts, art shows, casinos, and various other events. Back in those ancient times, the industry standard for promo shots was black & white. |

In late 1999, George & Anwyn relocated to southern Oregon. Throughout the 2000's, George & Anwyn continued performing as a duo, releasing 5 c.d.s of harp music (played by George), accompanied by Hammered Dulcimer, Guitar, Psaltery, and Hurdy Gurdy (played by Anwyn). During this time we could be found performing weekends throughout the Summer and Fall, as well. The Spring months (February - May) had us traveling for months at a time doing performing tours of school assembly programs (weekdays) and fairs and other performance venues during the weekends.

By the mid 2000's, apparently this new technology of color photography was really catching on. We had performed literally thousands of performances by this time. We still joke that we've driven every single road in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, & Nevada (even with one cross country performing trip in there).
In 2005 we made the decision to scale back just the smallest bit, and stopped touring throughout the Spring, focusing instead on weekend festivals as well as private events. During this time, we could be found throughout the west coast, performing on average 48 weekends a year. |

George is also a luthier, and spent the 'down' time between festivals crafting the harps he played, as well as building for others.
Building harps, and then spending so much time practicing & performing on them created a truly intimate, in depth connection with the instrument which shines through every song. Besides harp, George also builds the hurdy gurdies , dulcimers, and psalteries that Anwyn performed on. |
In addition to performing, George has also provided music for various movie and documentary soundtracks through DSM Producers , and for the independent film 'Shadows' (2008). George even made an onscreen appearance in a movie , providing a musical performance during one of the scenes ('Bait', filmed Nov 2021, scheduled for release Oct 2022)
George & Anwyn still perform as a duo, and George also performs as a soloist, depending on the needs of the event. In addition to the Celtic harp, George also performs classical and pop music on the concert pedal harp! When not performing, George hosts a monthly harp circle, attended by harpers & harpists in southwestern Oregon.
Honed by years as a performer over thousands of performances, George takes the greatest care in finding just the perfect musical 'fit' for your special occasion.
George & Anwyn still perform as a duo, and George also performs as a soloist, depending on the needs of the event. In addition to the Celtic harp, George also performs classical and pop music on the concert pedal harp! When not performing, George hosts a monthly harp circle, attended by harpers & harpists in southwestern Oregon.
